Online Film Ordering

Beginning April 13 all films will be ordered and paid for by patrons directly from the church at FILM.FAMILYSEARCH.ORG (all in small letters.)  To order films, patrons will sign in with their user name and password that they use for new.FS, Indexing and LDS.org.  They will need to have a valid email address and a credit card, debit card, prepaid bank card or PayPal account.  Films can be ordered from a patron’s home computer, a family member’s computer, the county library or the FHC.  Once they are trained, we will step back and allow patrons to do the order themselves.  

The cost of the film is: $5.50 for 90 days (which includes shipping time – so about 70 days of use)  We have been giving a discount in our FHC and renting the film for $2 for 60 days.  That will be gone on April 13 so hurry if you want to order one more film at the special price.

The Extended Loan rate will be $13.75 with a very important change.  It used to be that if you rented a film and then renewed it twice the $11 you paid for the first 2 rental periods plus the $5.50 for the second renewal covered the Long Term Loan price.  Now you may renew the film as many times as you want for $5.50 each time, but when you decide to keep it for a long time, you will need to pay the Extended Loan Price of $13.75.  So if you think you may want to keep it for a while, you can rent it the first time on Extended Loan for $13.75.

The Distribution Center will send the patron 4 emails for each order submitted –

1) When they receive the order

2) When they ship the order

3) When the FHC notifies them the order has been received at the FHC

4) 7 days before the order is due back.

As has always been the policy - films remain the property of the Church and must not leave the FHC while on loan.  Films on Extended Loan that are not used for a year or more may be returned to the Church to clear room in the FHC.

Because we represent the church we must be very kind but firm in a couple of areas - 

We can not push patrons to order on the computers at the FHC.  They should order from home.

We must not use our credit card or PayPal account and have the patron give us cash.

We must allow patron's who order on FHC computers privacy and not view or type in their credit card number.
